A semiclassical approach reproducing asymptotically the Heitler formula for atomic photoionization

Abstract: The wave-corpuscle method for description of atomic photoionization by a flux of photons in the visible and X-ray range was developed and applied. Using the calculated photoionization probability in the asymptotics, we obtained the desired approximate Heitler formula for atomic photoionization probability in the final form with the angular distribution of photoelectrons. The role of the Rayleigh scattering accompanying the photoemissive effect was considered.
