Lamb Shift and Natural Broadening of Spectral Lines of Atoms Subject to an Intense Laser Field Impact

Abstract: The article views the interaction of atoms which are subject to an intense laser field with own radiation field. In case of such atoms, energy levels of states with the same values of total angular momentum $J$, its projection $J_z$, and parity may overlap. Finally, an expression is derived for the natural broadening of spectral line profiles corresponding to transitions from overlapping laser-dressed states.
