Abstract: Doppler goniometric complex “Specter” was created in 1980-s to investigate receiving angle distribution of SW radio signal reflected from ionosphere. Complex work principle is based on interference methods of ionospheric radio sounding. Sounding signal is a narrowband continuous radio broadcasting signal emitted by SW radio stations (like RVM, RID, Radio Russia, BBC). Its usage in processing system of modern hardware allowed creating a reliable measuring system for carrying out long-term (about several months) continuous measurements. Thus, opportunities for measuring long-period wave processes were broadened, and monitoring of ionospheric parameters was allowed. Using modern algorithms of original management and data processing allowed long-term measurements in an automatic mode.

Keywords: ionosphere, doppler frequency shift, doppler goniometric complex “Spectr”.
