Thermo-mechanical modeling of superelastic shape-memory beam elements experiencing large deflections

Abstract: The present work proposes a theoretical framework and algorithm for numerical analysis of large deflections of superelastic shape-memory alloy beam elements. The developed numerical model and solution algorithm are embedded in a computer application. Capabilities of this application are illustrated by a series of examples.
