Abstract:
We studied the current state of nucleosynthesis theory of elements formed in the process of neutron capture and compared it with observational data. On the example of 170 dwarf stars classified as the stars of the thin and thick disks, we found that the behaviour of the abundances of $n$-capture elements depending on metallicity differed for various elements. Contribution of light and heavy $s$-process elements, as well as barium ($s$-process) and europium ($r$-process) elements, to the enrichment of the thin and thick disk stars was analysed. The obtained trends in the elemental abundances was interpreted through the theoretical computations of the chemical evolution of the Galaxy.
