Abstract: The reasons of failure of microcontroller devices are expounded. The ways of providing the continuity of devices operation by entering into the scheme of the external watchdog timer and the restart of microcontrollers in the event of malfunction are proposed. The programming mistakes resulting in microcontroller deadlocks are pointed out.
