Abstract:
Statistically 85 % of information a man is in contact with is tied with geography. It validates using of GIS in fields where control and management of territory and its objects are executed. When comparing decision support system and GIS's definition, classification and functions it is evident that GIS could be viewed as a class of decision support system in managing spatial information. Combination of GIS and SPPR doesn't substitute "classic" decision support system but complete its own tasks, creating support systems for decision making on the basis of spatial data. Geographic information system is an instrument which enables to speed up and raise efficiency of a decision making procedure, provides implementation of requests and functions of spatial data analysis and presents the results of the analysis in clearly arranged and easy to understand view.
