Abstract: Currently the process of information management in infocommunication systems has some difficulties in calculating the optimal criterion of the route of data transmission. The uncertainty is associated with many disturbing factors affecting the information transmission system. The instruments of the structural elements of telecommunication systems help collect the information on the results of such actions. In the process of the control tasks of the infocommunication systems such information is not often used. To improve the efficiency of the traffic management systems of information transmission is possible due to the use of the principles of cross-layer interaction. While using the route protocols based on the principles of inter-layer interaction, during the calculation of the optimal criterion of the route of information transmission not only the information coming from the network layer, but also from other levels is taken into account. In general, the information can come from the physical, data link, transport and application levels. On the basis of the principles of the cross-layer routing the protocol using the data on the status of the channel and network levels at the time of calculation of the optimality criterion in the selection of the route, is implemented. The protocol is called OLSR-Cross Layer. The experimental verification of the effectiveness of the practical use of the OLSR-Cross Layer protocol was carried out in the software package Opnet Modeler by means of the simulation method. It was proved that the use of the OLSR-Cross Layer protocol is more effective than the use of the OLSR protocol, which uses the classical principles of routing. The experimental results showed that the probability of the packet loss using the OLSR-Cross Layer protocol is less by 3 times, and the delay of the packet transmission from the sender to the recipient is almost twice less.
