Abstract: The sparse approximation is a powerful instrument for time-and-frequency signal analysis. This publication outlines use of matching pursuit method for finding impulses in geoacoustic emission signals. Designed algorithm was tested on actual data.

Keywords: sparse approximation, geoacoustic emission, matching pursuit.
