Abstract:
A seismic method for oil and gas exploration is briefly considered. Basic mathematical
methods applied to seismic data processing are described. The need for high-performance
computing at timely processing present-day field data is substantiated. The performance
of cluster file systems of Russian supercomputers, CHEBYSHEV and LOMONOSOV, is studied
for the problems of standard data processing. Time-consuming algorithms for regular
noise attenuation, depth imaging, and static correction are discussed along with examples
of their application.
Keywords:seismic exploration; supercomputer; digital data processing; attenuation of noise multiples; seismic migration.
