Effect of evaporation and diffusion of a surface-active substance on the instability of a falling liquid film

Abstract: The linear stability of a flowing-down film of a surface-active solute in the region of active evaporation is analyzed. The phase velocities and the gain coefficients are calculated for the hydrodynamic and diffusion modes of disturbances.
