Abstract: Considering the gashydrate as hypothetical substance “methane-water” the parameters of its combustion and detonations in a mixture with oxygen and air were determined, including the critical energies of a mixture ignition and of a detonation initiation. It was established, for example, that the mixture appropriate to methane-hydrate of the CS-1 structure is capable not only easily to be ignited and to burn in an atmosphere of oxygen, but even to detonate at the appropriate scales of methane-hydrate charge and initiation energies. In an air the methane-hydrates are capable to burn, but its require a large charges (unreal) for initiation of a detonation.

Keywords: combustion, detonation, explosion hazards, gashydrate.
