Abstract: The mathematical model of spring ice drift is formulated where channel base current parameters are reproduced on the basis of algoristic-type numerical model, and ice floes floating down the river are considered as multiscale elements of stochastic ensemble. Dynamics of each ice element is calculated separately with account of its interaction with the coast and adjacent ice floes, including those forming ice-jam. Jam formation scenario was calculated for Lena river reach near Yakutsk.

Keywords: mathematical simulation, hydrodynamics, numerical methods, the ice phenomena in channels.
