Abstract: The nonlinear problem on unsteady hydro-elastic waves generated by submerged elliptical cylinder moving under floating ice sheet is considered. Our analysis uses reduction of basic equations to an equivalent boundary integral-differential system. Small-time asymptotic solution is constructed in the case when the cylinder starts with constant acceleration from the rest.

Keywords: ice cover, elliptic cylinder, unsteady hydro-elastic waves.
