Abstract:
The distortion of the nematic structure of NLC under binary action of periodic shear and pressure is theoretically described in wide range of frequencies. In the calculation of the effect under formulating the boundary conditions, the mobility at the normal of the upper plate and finite value of the orientation energy on the layer boundaries is taken into consideration. Nonlinear dependence of a nematic structure deformation on the shear amplitude is proved. The possibility of optical registration of structure deformation is analyzed.
