Calculation of additional masses with drop-shaped axisymmetric bodies

Abstract: Algorithms of calculation of drop-shaped axisymmetric bodies additional masses are presented. Methods of their calculation by means of a plane section method and the method of Laplace equation solution in elliptic coordinates are described. These methods are compared with each other and the results of calculation of additional masses coefficients counted in a variety of ways are given. The trial-and-error method of an equivalent drop-shaped body and the method for determination of coefficients in generating line equations are also described. The example for a schematic model of an underwater vehicle hull is given. Tables with the results of calculations of drop-shaped bodies additional masses for different sets of coefficients in the equations of their generating lines are shown. Bibliogr. 5. Il. 3. Tabl. 3.
