Abstract: In this article the abnormal behavior of the separation curve in a classification apparatus (so-called “fish-hook” effect) with using the kinematic model of the entrainment of the fine particles by larger ones is explained. The influence of the particle size distribution function in a feed polydisperse suspension on the separation curve is shown.
