Abstract: A micro-scale meteorological model has been developed for calculating wind conditions in the vicinity of an airport with buildings of different floor numbers, vegetation, and heterogeneity of the underlying surface. The modeling results will help to determine the airflow structure around weather station sites with the aim to preliminarily estimate the effect of airport buildings on measurements quality, as well as to identify near-surface wind shear affecting aircrafts during takeoff or landing.

Keywords: atmospheric boundary layer, wind shear, turbulence modeling.
