Abstract:
A models for simple Carnot, Brayton and Ericsson cooling cycles used in magnetic refrigeration near room temperature were developed. Models were used to calculate a theoretical limit of temperature span, cooling power, efficiency of simulated cycles. The obtained results clearly demonstrate the functional ranges of Carnot, Brayton and Ericsson-cycle refrigerators. The proposed modeling method can be used as method of assessing the suitability of the magnetocaloric material as the working body of magnetic refrigerators.
