Research performance family supercomputers «SKIF Aurora» on industrial problems

Abstract: In a comparative study of the performance of applications of numerical simulation on the supercomputer SKIF: «SKIF Aurora» and «SKIF Ural», set in the South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk), as well as on a cluster of «Endeavor» Company Intel (DuPont, USA). As applications, we chose the problem of gas dynamics, the problem of finite-element analysis and the problem of condensation of nanoparticles. The analysis results show that in most cases, the supercomputer «SKIF Aurora» demonstrates the best performance, especially in tasks demanding memory bandwidth.
