Abstract: Theoretical study of polarization-spectral anomalies of a wave field (that is its deviation from that predicted by simple plane-wave models) is presented. A simple method of numerical simulation of anomalies of nonstationary wave fields near a caustic and in penumbra is described. It uses both leading and correcting terms in asymptotic formulas. Examples of simulation of displacements and average polarization ellipses are given. A discussion of quantitative properties of wave fields presented.
