The Krein string and characteristic functions of maximal dissipative operators

The theory of the Krein string is considered in the framework of a continual analogue of the theory of unitary operator nodes. On this basis, the generalization of M. G. Krein and A. A. Nudelman result on the completeness of the string operator is obtained.
