A combined representation of an acoustic field in the underwater sound channel and asymptotic summation of normal modes

The asymptotic method of calculation of high-frequency acoustic fields in SOFAR channels is proposed. According to this method the field is represented by the sum of specially chosen groups of normal modes and ray terms.
