Ray-mode representations of the Green function in a three-dimensional homogeneous waveguide

The wave field generated by the point source in a three-dimensional homogeneous cylindrical waveguide of a rather arbitrary cross-section is considered. The approach to the construction of hybrid ray-mode representations of the wave field and to the transformation of ray set into modes and visa versa is suggested.
