On large deviation of Durbin's statistic for testing uniformity on the square

Abstract: We obtain rough asymptotics for the probabilityes of large deriations of the so-called Durbin's statistic for testing uniformity on the square. This result may be used for evaluating for the Bahadur efficiency.
