Geodesics on the upper half-plane and distribution of quadratic irrationalities

It is proved that the well-known results by Duke and Iwaniec on the estimates of the Fourier coefficients of modular forms of half-integer weight do not allow one to obtain a distribution law for quadratic irrationalities with fixed discriminant.
