Application of linear programming to non-linear problems with free boundaries for Laplace's equation

A method is described for reducing non-linear problems with unknown boundaries for Laplace's equation to sequences of linear problems of mathematical physics and mathematical programming. Examples are given in which the method is applied to the theory of jets of ideal liquid.
