Abstract: A linear problem of parametric oscillations of a low-viscosity homogeneous fluid in an open vessel partially filled with a porous medium is considered. An asymptotic solution is constructed on the basis of the simultaneous application of the boundary function method and averaging for subharmonic and harmonic resonances. Approximation formulas are derived for the boundaries of instability zones.

Key words: viscous fluid, parametric resonance, porous medium, singular perturbations.
