Abstract: An analytical solution of the skin effect problem is obtained using the kinetic equation with the collision integral that takes into account the fact that the momentum of electrons can be partly preserved upon the scattering from the surface. It is assumed that the reflection of electrons is purely diffusive. This equation makes it possible to take into account the deviation from the Wiedemann–Franz law in real metals. The cases of the normal and anomalous skin effect are analyzed in detail.
