Splitting of evolutionary equations on the basis of diagonal implicit methods of the third order

Southern Ural State University

Abstract: New third-order splitting methods for partial differential equations of the evolutionary type in a three-dimensional space are presented. The methods are derived on the basis of diagonally implicit three-stage methods used for numerically solving stiff ordinary differential equations. For the methods to be third-order accurate, the coefficients of the methods must satisfy some previously known and additional conditions.

Key words: evolutionary equations, diagonally implicit methods, third-order accurate splitting methods, stiff systems of ordinary differential equations.
