Supersonic flow around conical bodies in an ideal liquid at different angles of attack

I. I. Nochevkina

Moscow

Abstract: The contours of a conical body submerged in an ideal fluid at a given angle of attack and at a steady supersonic velocity are determined numerically by reducing a system of non-linear partial differential equations to a system of ordinary differential equations.
Numerical solutions are obtained for a septem of 718 equations, for different Mach numbers, and for different angles in the configuration. These calculations were carried out on an electronic computer “Strela”. Graphs of the various velocity distributions and entropy function distribution, together with the contours of the submerged bodies are given. There is a discussion of the step length required in the computation.
