The mathematical axiomatics of quantum mechanics leads to the emergence of a new mathematical discipline that is noncommutative probability theory. As in the usual probability theory, the concepts of a random variable, mathematical expectation, variance, covariance and correlation appear. However, the properties of such familiar characteristics are often different from their classical counterparts.
