Outstanding Russian mathematician Oleg Georgievich Smolyanov (02/08/1938 ─ 12/16/2021), Honored Professor of Lomonosov Moscow State University, left behind a large scientific school: he prepared more than 40 Ph.D. diploma holders, 8 of which defended habilitation thesis. Every year on the birthday of O. G. Smolyanov, February 8, representatives of this school, their students and colleagues, as well as everyone who wishes, gather for a one-day conference dedicated to the memory of the classic. It is noteworthy that on the same day, a public holiday is celebrated - the day of Russian science, since it was on February 8, 1724 that Peter I established the Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The whole life of O. G. Smolyanov, a patriot of Russia, was devoted to science, and his results are mainly associated with infinite-dimensional analysis and its applications, as evidenced by the personal page of O. G. Smolyanov on the all-Russian mathematical portal.
