Quantum circuits are the basic model for describing quantum computations. With the development of the theory of quantum correction and fault-tolerant computations it became clear that a wide and most robust class of quantum circuits (Clifford circuits) is effectively simulated on classical computers. At the same time the supposed gain in computational power of quantum computation is achieved by adding some additional resource ($T$-gates, magic states, negativity, contextuality) to Clifford circuits. The course is devoted to the study of modern ideas of quantum circuit theory and closely related concepts.
