We kindly ask all participants, including remote ones and those
watching recorded videos, to register at this link.
The main purpose of the seminar is to review and to present interesting
results in geometric groups theory and close areas that were obtained in last
decades. Talks will be prepared on the base of papers of different authors.
Participants need no special background; however, it is desirable to be familiar
with classical concepts of geometric group theory such as hyperbolic group,
Dehn function or fundamental group of a graph of groups.
Main topics of the seminar are:
- One-relator groups.
- Special classes of fundamental groups of graphs of groups.
- Asymptotic invariants of groups (growth function, Dehn function).
- Algorithmic problems.
- Hyperbolic and similar groups.
- Groups acting on spaces of non-positive curvature.
- Automatic and similar groups.
