Abstract: Synchronization is the phenomenon of emergence of the ordered state in systems of nonlinear interacting oscillators with pumping and damping. By the phase reduction, these systems can be reduced to the Kuramoto model. This significant simplification allows one to investigate essential properties of synchronization but the presence of nonlinearities still make the problem complicated. The talk reveals different approaches to study synchronization on the Kuramoto model which are based on statistical methods and ideas from graph theory.
