Ekedahl invariants

We’ll discuss some basic facts about cohomological invariants of finite groups, introduced not so long ago by the late Ekedahl. These invariants are somehow related to the Noether rationality problem (for the Saltman–Swan counter example they turn out to be non-trivial).
