Time-optimal quantum state transfer in long qubit chains

Prototypes of large-scale quantum processors are now within reach, but noise and dissipation make optimal control highly challenging. We address quantum state transfer in large nearest-neighbor qubit arrays and introduce an optimal control strategy that maximizes fidelity while minimizing transfer time. The protocol is demonstrated for systems of up to 100 qubits, achieves the quantum speed limit with a time-controlled Hamiltonian, and outperforms existing strategies.
