On the 100th anniversary of N.M. Matveev (1914–2014)

Abstract: The report is devoted to research and teaching activity of the famous St. Petersburg mathematician and teacher Nikolai Mikhailovich Matveev. He worked at the leading universities of St. Petersburg: at the Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty of Leningrad State University, at Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Processes, at the Pedagogical University. Nikolai Mikhailovich is one of the founders of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Processes of Leningrad University. He was the organizer and the undisputed leader of the well-known St. Petersburg City Seminar on differential equations and on the History of mathematics. The report traced the life of this wonderful St. Petersburg educator and mathematician.
