Calendar planning of the entire production cycle of steel sheets

Abstract: The sequential decomposition of the problem is proposed. It naturally generalizes the human's approach so solving planning tasks "manually" in practice. Also a heuristic procedure for constructing the joint solution of the problem the expected "good" levels of quality is described. We discuss the shortcomings of this approach to the problem and the ways to improve it as we observe using mathematical programming. Particularly, to solve individual tasks in decomposition, as well as to the construction of iterative algorithms "feedback" when tasks that are earlier in the decomposition are influenced by next task in decomposition solutions from the previous iteration.
