Approximately rationally or elliptically connected varieties

I will talk about varieties $X$ connected by chains of rational or elliptic curves contained in an arbitrarily small neighborhood of $X$ in projective space in the Euclidean topology. The talk is based on the paper of Claire Voisin arXiv:1201.3197.
