To a tercentenary of Jean Le Rond D'Alembert

Abstract: On November 16, 2017 we will celebrate 300 years since the birth of the great French mathematician, philosopher, educator and social activist Jean Le Rond D'Alembert. In a report we will trace his life and discuss his works that have left a deep mark in many areas of human knowledge. In particular, his contribution to the theory of ordinary differential equations, the theory of differential equations in partial derivatives, research in algebra. We shall consider D'Alembert and famous contemporaries relationships such as with Euler, Lagrange, Diderot, Condorcet, Catherine the Great, Frederick II.
