Weighted transition polynomial as a weight system

A. M. Dunaykin

Abstract: In order to study Vassiliev invariants of knots we may study functions on chord diagrams that satisfy special relations. Such functions are called weight systems. A chord diagram is an oriented ribbon graph with one vertex. We introduce a weight system that is a weighted transition polynomial of the medial graph of a chord diagram. Preņise definitions will be given in the beginning of the talk and our weight system will be continued to an arbitrary ribbon graph remaining a weight system.
