Abstract: The eigenfunction and eigenvalue problem for a difference operator with incommensurable shifts is considered. The connection of this problem to the boundary-value problem for a differential-difference operator with incommensurable shifts is studied. An estimate for the domain of the operator spectrum is obtained.
