Abstract: Nonlocal reaction-diffusion equations have emerged as powerful tools for modeling complex biological and biomedical processes, where interactions extend beyond immediate spatial neighborhoods. This seminar will explore the fundamental differences between nonlocal and conventional reaction-diffusion equations, beginning with key stability results that highlight their unique dynamical properties. These theoretical insights will then be applied to a range of biological and biomedical models, demonstrating how nonlocality influences pattern formation, wave propagation, and other critical behaviors in living systems. Through these examples, we will gain a deeper understanding of the role of nonlocal interactions in biological dynamics and their implications for real-world applications. |
