Quantum dynamics of atomic systems under external drive L. A. Mazhorina |

Abstract: The first part of the talk is devoted to the materials of the candidate’s dissertation and includes the results of numerical simulations of the quantum dynamics of trapped ions in Paul traps and positronium (Ps) atoms. The dynamics of trapped ions is considered in the context of quantum computing and includes: 1. the calculation of the spectrum of normal motional modes in the presence of an optical lattice, 2. the fidelity of a global gate for a chain of ions, 3. and experimental measurements of quantum dynamics followed by the calculation of a non-Markovianity measure for the case of a single ion. Ps atoms are considered in spectroscopic experiments for tests of quantum electrodynamics (QED). The second part of the talk provides details on different quantum optical models that can be experimentally realized on a trapped-ion platform. Language: English |
