Inorganic barrier layers: electron transfer on mercury modified by tungstate

Strong inhibition of anion reduction on a mercury electrode by adsorbed tungstate, WO42−, and dodecatungstate, [H₂W₁₂O₄₂]^10–, was found and considered as surface blocking with solid-like tungstate adlayers.
