New coinage metal-coordinated intermetalloid E10 clusters (R3P)AuGe9(Hyp)3Pt(PPh3) (R = Bu, Et)

We present the synthesis and characterization of the inter-metalloid clusters R₃PAuGe₉(Hyp)₃Pt(PPh₃) [R = Et, Bu; Hyp = Si(SiMe₃)₃] obtained by the reaction of R₃PAuGe₉(Hyp)₃ (R = Et, Bu) with Pt(PPh₃)₄. The realized cluster enlargement is also known for the neutral cluster Ge₉(Et)(Hyp)₃, leading, however, to a different arrangement of substituents and different dynamics in the solution.
